Lifted aromas of raspberries and morello cherries on the nose. The medium-bodied palate shows red fruits with earth and dried herb notes, the beautifully textural mid-palate slipping into a long, soft velvety finish.The original founder of Moss Wood, Bill Pannel established Picardy in 1993 with the aim of handcrafting fine Burgundian-style wines, with a traditional attention to detail in every step from vineyard to winery to release.The 2022 vintage saw lower than average yields. 40% whole bunch pressed, it displays an incredible depth of flavour. Subtle nectarine and white peach notes with a fine citrus line, transitions on the palate into ethereal creamy notes that are the essence of a complex Chardonnay.Delightfully floral and pretty on the nose, elegant and medium bodied. Crunchy, primary red fruits dominate, with raspberries, macerated cherry and pomegranate. These transition into darker fruits, with cinnamon and underlying old-wordly earthy, undergrowth notes adding subtle complexity.A friendly and inviting right bank blend of Merlot 65%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20% and Cabernet Franc 15%, it shows rich and fleshy primary fruits, a wide flavour spectrum ranging from bright red fruits, through to blackcurrants, star anise and a hint of tomato leaf, with subtle oak and refreshing acidity.For over 25 years winemaker Michael Peterkin has striven to fuse the Margaret River terrior with skilled hands-on viticulture and winemaking to produce superior wines of character and elegance, notably Chardonnay.Sauvignon Blanc 90% with Semillon 10%. Made from hand-picked fruit from 35-year old vines in the estate vineyards. Whole bunch pressed and fermented in stainless steel, and left in the tank on lees for 6 months prior to bottling. Showing aromas and flavours of guava, passionfruit, lemon and lime.Hand-picked Gin Gin clone fruit from the 20-30 year old Fire Gully Farm & Vineyard vines was whole bunch pressed to 1 and 2-year old French oak. Notes of pineapple, honeydew melon, lemon, lime and green apple, complemented by subtle toasty notes and a delicate, creamy mouthfeel.A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc gives backbone and structure together with smooth, soft textures and fragrance. Gently perfumed red berry aromatics open onto a palate with ripe plum and blackcurrant flavours. Medium-to-full-bodied, showing good weight and gentle grip on the finish.Semillon 50% provides citrus, savouriness and ability to age, Sauvignon Blanc 43% adds aroma and fresh fruit, and the L.T.C. (Little Touch of Chardonnay) contributes body, richness and power. Citrus, pear, green apple and honeydew melon.
