His first release Pinot Noir '03 earned 93 points from James Halliday.A cool growing season with some rain made for a crisp, fresh Chardonnay, showing aromas of ripe white peach and nectarine. Excellent length and freshness, with exquisite subtleties of flavour and texture, and layers of complexity. 12 months elevage on stirred lees, in European oak, 10% new.Upfront raspberry and wild strawberry with complex, savoury spices including clove and anise. Well-proportioned oak frames the background of dense, dark plums, briar and blackberry fruit. The palate is full and balanced, with polished tannins, upright structure, and a dense core of powerful fruit.A small family-owned winery with a 40-year history in prime Terra Rossa soil in Coonawarra, a commitment to hand pruning in the vineyard helps produce rich complex wines made to age beautifully. The cooler season saw smaller yields but with plenty of flavour. Pale yellow with a slight green tinge of colour in the glass with a fresh, vibrant nose, balanced by judicious French oak. The palate shows both texture and flavour balanced by the natural acidity, a true hallmark of Coonawarra. An excellent example of Coonawarra Shiraz, medium-bodied, with abundant plummy fruit characters balanced by fresh Shiraz spicy fruit. 18 months in American oak enhances the mouthfeel and supports the fine tannin structure, adding length to the palate. An opulent palate in the darker fruit range with mulberry fruit characters and a touch of black olive adding depth. After 18 months maturation in French oak barriques, the classic cedary/oak flavours are balanced by terra rossa earthiness, adding to the fine mid-weight Coonawarra tannin structure.-20-12752125111284612958128451266012661128501259912597Central Victoria, Vic.Cabernet Sauvignon98%/Merlot2% Alc.15.3% Central Victoria, Vic.Cabernet Sauvignon98%/Merlot2% Alc.15.3% Clare Valley, S.A.Riesling Alc.11.6% RS3.77g/LSouth AustraliaChardonnay Alc.12.6% Adelaide (Super Zone), S.A.Shiraz Alc.14.9% Cabernet Sauvignon S’21Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml) S’21Riesling S’23Chardonnay S’23Shiraz S’22Estate Chardonnay S’22Gippsland, Vic.Chardonnay Alc.12.8% Estate Pinot Noir S’22Gippsland, Vic.Pinot Noir Alc.13.2% Coonawarra Chardonnay S’23Coonawarra, S.A.Chardonnay100% Alc.12.6% Coonawarra Shiraz S’21Coonawarra, S.A.Shiraz100% Alc.14.1% Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon S’21Coonawarra, S.A.Cabernet Sauvignon100% Alc.14.2% Angus The BullAnnie's LaneBowen EstateBellvaleAustralia
